CerMark LMM14 is designed to create permanent, high-contrast marks on metal surfaces when used with a laser. Before application, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust, oil, or grease, as contaminants may affect adhesion and marking quality. Once the surface is dry, the LMM14 coating should be applied evenly by spray, brush, roller, or airbrush. The coating layer must be thin and uniform, since applying too much material can reduce marking efficiency. After application, the coating should be allowed to dry completely, either at room temperature or with the aid of warm air to speed the process.

Once dry, the prepared surface is marked with a suitable laser, such as CO₂, fiber, or YAG, depending on the type of metal. During this process, the laser fuses the LMM14 material into the surface, producing a dark, durable, and highly legible mark. After marking, the unbonded coating is easily removed by rinsing with water or wiping with a damp cloth, leaving behind only the permanent laser mark. The resulting marks are resistant to abrasion, heat, and many chemicals, making LMM14 suitable for demanding industrial applications.

Mixing Instructions:

CerMark LMM14 is not sold as a ready-to-use liquid like ULTRA—it usually comes in a concentrated paste that must be mixed before application

It should be mixed with either denatured alcohol (ethanol) or distilled water to achieve the correct spray or brush consistency. Alcohol is generally preferred, as it allows the coating to dry faster and more evenly.

A typical mixing ratio is 1 part LMM14 paste to 2–3 parts liquid (alcohol or water). The goal is to obtain a thin, paint-like consistency that can be sprayed smoothly or brushed in a uniform layer. If the mixture is too thick, add small amounts of liquid until the desired viscosity is reached.

Once mixed, the product should be stirred thoroughly to ensure complete dispersion. It is recommended to mix only the amount that will be used within a few days, as prolonged storage after dilution can reduce effectiveness.
